We are seeking an experienced, proactive and results-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist / Project Laboratory Coordinator. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with laboratory operations, project planning, preventive health outreach, team coordination and reporting.

Laboratory Equipment Experience

Required / preferred equipment exposure:

  • Mindray BC-5000 Auto Hematology Analyzer
  • Mindray CL-1000i Chemiluminescence Immunoassay System
  • Mindray BS-240 Clinical Chemistry Analyzer

Hands-on experience with these specific systems is highly desirable. Strong experience with comparable automated hematology, clinical chemistry and immunoassay systems may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations and activities.
  • Perform laboratory testing and ensure accurate, timely and reliable results.
  • Operate automated hematology, clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyzers.
  • Perform routine quality control, calibration, basic troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, SOPs, biosafety requirements and good laboratory practices.
  • Develop work plans and coordinate preventive health screening projects.
  • Plan and coordinate community screening campaigns, workplace screening programs, health camps, marathons/events and other preventive health initiatives.
  • Establish measurable project targets including people to be reached/tested, locations, timelines, resources and implementation approaches.
  • Coordinate sample collection, testing, processing, documentation and reporting.
  • Assess staffing requirements and advise management on laboratory personnel required for activities and projects.
  • Supervise laboratory personnel involved in assigned projects and prepare project plans, presentations, activity reports and management updates.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrated practical laboratory experience and strong experience operating automated analyzers.
  • Experience in quality control, calibration, routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience coordinating laboratory projects, screening programs, outreach activities or preventive health initiatives is an added advantage.
  • Strong planning, supervision, organizational, reporting, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver against established targets.
